Oklahoma City Community College opens new theater

The choirs of Oklahoma City Community College will perform for the first time in their new Visual and Performing Arts Theater on March 4, 2014. The free concert will begin at 7:00 pm. The varied program will The varied program will consist of standard choral a cappella repertoire, such as Clausen’s “Set Me As a Seal” and Christensen’s “Light Everlasting.” Spiritual pieces such as “River in Judea” and “Praise His Holy Name” will be performed as will jazz pieces including Meader’s “The Swingle Song” and “That Ever I Saw.” Powerful choral arrangements by Mack Wilberg, accompanied by two Steinway concert grand pianos, will also be in store for audience guests.
Another feature of the concert will be a piano quartet playing an arrangement of “Stars and Stripes Forever” as well as a two piano duet of “Ode to Joy” and “Malagueña”.
