SheSings 2014 - Women's A Cappella Association

Location: Oregon, USA

EUGENE, Ore. – This May, the Women's A Cappella Association (WACA) will be hosting the second
annual SheSings Festival in Eugene Oregon!

In an effort to further the reach of female a cappella in America - and around the world – WACA
founded what has become an annual festival dedicated to fostering the creativity and unique spirit of
women in the a cappella community. WACA is thrilled to continue the tradition that was forged last year!
SheSings will once again be a true celebration of women – especially the showcases that will be held
on Friday (May 23) and Saturday (May 24), both of which will feature some of the best high school,
collegiate, semi-professional and professional all-female ensembles in the country. They will be headlined
by The Riveters and the Honey Whiskey Trio respectively, two renowned and revered all-female
ensembles that both perfectly capture the spirit of the SheSings Festival.

In addition, the Oakland School for the Arts' own Vocal Rush - who were finalists on Season 4 of "The
Sing-Off" - will be performing on Saturday evening!

Between these breathtaking performances, attendees can experience a day full of educational workshops
that focus on cultivating leadership skills, developing the rhythm section (bass and VP) of an all-female
group, arranging, stage presence, and more!

Additionally, WACA will announce the track list to its first-ever Best of Women’s A Cappella compilation,
which will feature some of the world’s most celebrated all-female ensembles, scholastic and professional
alike. A celebratory listening party is also in the works.

WACA believes in the power of the female voice and spirit. We seek to encourage musical integrity and
creativity in women throughout the a cappella community. We aim to educate and inspire, and to create
a forum of open discussion, mutual respect and unwavering support for current and future women in a
cappella.

The first SheSings Festival gave WACA the opportunity to work toward all of these aims in a positive,
nurturing and inspiring environment. We look forward to offering the same to this year’s attendees!
You won’t want to miss this educational, inspiring and musical event. Join us to find out how you can join
in the upward trend of pitch-perfect all-female a cappella!
