The Beachwood High School Orchestra program has approximately 70 students and the director of the program is Ms. Lisa Goldman. Director Lisa Goldman finds the students hardworking and dedicated. “It’s interesting to see how each year gets better. The goal of the orchestra program is to teach students the skills necessary to perform a variety of music on string instruments. Students are challenged to perform classical repertoire and present several concerts each year for students, parents and the community. Many of the students have now been performing on their instruments for nine years since they began instruction.
The orchestra has taken several domestic and international tours as part of the high school music experience and recent concert tours have been to Spain and New York City. Performing in historical and iconic venues offers students experiences of a lifetime. On this tour to Italy, the group will be visiting Sorrento, the Isle of Capri, Positano, Amalfi, Pompeii, Orvieto and Rome. The group is already working hard to prepare their 2014 repertoire and is looking forward to an amazing tour.
