Cantare in Sicilia - Festival of Brotherhood is an INTERNATIONAL Festival of Men's Choruses (TTBB) in SICILY - MAY 2015
We are looking for the BEST Collegiate, Community, and High School Men's Choruses, from all over the world, to apply for this ONE OF A KIND Festival focused on the music and traditions of Men's Chourses.
Discover the masterpieces left by nature and the different civilizations that have made Sicily their home during the last three millenia. Exuberant cities with their vibrant streets, noble palaces and extravagant baroque buildings, smells of wild flowers, lunar landscapes and, importantly, some of the greatest archeological sites in the mediterranean world: Sican ruins, Punic city walls, amazingly well preserved Doric temples, Greek and Roman theaters, as well as Christian and Byzantine tombs and catacombs.
The festival will feature individual concerts by each of the participating ensembles, as well as, two special GALA Concerts featuring all of the participating ensembles together in a performance of combined repertoire with our Festival Guest Conductor. Individual ensembles will also have the opportunity to enjoy exchange concerts and cultural exchanges with other participating ensembles and local ensembles from Sicily.
Visiting ensembles will be welcomed to this historic region of Italy by local musician, city authorities, and host organizations officials. Festival concerts take place in breathtaking venues throughout Sicily.
Visit and perform in Catania, Etna, Taomina, Siracusa, Agrigento, Cefalu, and Palermo.
Groups may also consider an extended performance tour to other parts of Italy, in addition to the festival participation.
Festival participation is limited and by AUDITION ONLY. Audition Deadline is June 1, 2014 and all ensembles will be notified by July 1, 2014. This ONE OF A KIND festival is ONLY produced by SECHRIST TRAVEL.
