Susquehanna University High School Choral Institute: July 6-12

This week-long residential program focuses on musicianship, vocal technique and choral performance skills. Students will be housed on Susquehanna University's idyllic campus 45 minutes north of Harrisburg, PA in air conditioned residence halls.

Program highlights

  • Sing in the institute choir conducted by Dr. Julia Thorn and Dr. Jason Vodicka
  • Take classes in music theory, conducting, diction and vocal science.
  • Receive group vocal instruction from Susquehanna's renowned voice faculty.
  • Hear performances by SU students and faculty.
  • Participate in the closing concert in Stretansky Concert Hall.
  • Enjoy an evening off at Knoebels Amusement Park.

Who may apply

High school students entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2014 are invited to apply. Selection is based on letter of recommendation from your choral director, voice teacher, pastor or counselor. Comprehensive tuition including room and board is $610. Need-based scholarships are available.
