CANTORIA HIPPONENSIS NEXT PERFORMANCE: Spring Coral Gathering CANTORIA ‘14
Event Date: May 12, 2014
Posted: May 12, 2014
Choir type: Other Choirs
After a series of eight annual concerts in a row under the name of CANTORIA, this one is going to be the first that will not take place in our traditional place, the Byzantine Chapel Alfonso El Magnánimo of the Cultural Centre La Beneficencia in Valencia.
The polychromic realizations of its Byzantines frescos will be replaced with the gothic severity and austerity of the Santa Catalina’s church. The recollection and the exquisite sound of the Byzantine chapel will give way to the magnificent amplitude of the Santa Catalina’s temple, thus proving our maintenance of a long standing tradition of progress and renovation for each of these Spring coral meetings.
Mext May 17th at 8 pm in Santa Catalina Church of Valencia, we will celebrate “Cantoria ’14, that, as being customary, is the “waiting room” for the preparation of our main and traditional concert “Molto Allegro” to take place next June in El Palau de la Musica of Valencia.
In this year’s edition of CANTORIA, we will enjoy the participation of an exceptional guest choir: Coral Nova of Cornellá, Barcelona, that will share stage with us, as well as their presence and friendship, thus strengthening the ties between the tow choirs.
Coral Nova de Cornellá, was founded in 1986 as a mixed choir of 30 voices, is presently conducted by Krastin Nastev. Heuy typically perform in local festivities, carols as well in social events and offer an annual concert at the Fiesta de la Cultura Catalana in the festivity of St George, April 23rd.
They have also performed abroad, being Germany, Andorra, Austria, France, Poland or Vatican City some of their destinations. At home, they have performed in Spain in Asturias, Baleares, Castilla-Leon, Cataluña, Valencia, Galicia and Navarra.
Cantoria Hipponnensis wants to welcome our guests of Coral Nova de Cornellá of Barcelona, wishing them a very pleasant stay in Valencia and great success in this and future performances.
