New Hope-Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir

Location: Pennsylvania, USA
Choir type: Community Choirs
Voicing: Mixed
The New Hope – Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir concludes its second season with a concert at Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury on Sunday afternoon, June 1st at 4:00 p.m. In keeping with what has quickly emerged as a trademark of NHS&LCC performances, the concert will include a mixture of choral pieces and songs performed by individual members of the group.

Choral music comes from a variety of composers, including Verdi, Mozart, Clausen, Barnum, McGlynn, Culloton and more. Individual performances include songs or solos from choir members Elizabeth Bowman, Allison Brown, Mary Freedman, Melissa Wieczorek, and Giuseppe Minniti.

NHS&LCC is made up of members of the immediate New Hope, Solebury and Lambertville communities as well as several singers from the surrounding areas. The Choir is under the direction of Episcopal minister of music, male a cappella group Cordus Mundi founder, and New Hope resident Rick Rosen.

“We truly are a community choir, and we’re representative of this unique place where we live,” notes Rosen. “We’re made up of a wide variety of people and personalities, with a wide variety of musical skill sets. The idea is to sing an equally wide variety of music, to match the music to our abilities while still challenging ourselves, and to then end up with quality music and a truly fun, enjoyable and rewarding experience for everyone, including our audience.”

The choir is currently working to fund its plans for regular musical visits each month to area nursing homes, senior centers, and rehab facilities. The group has a limited-time fund-raising campaign in progress at online crowd funding platform Indiegogo to which backing contributions are invited; would-be supporters can also send checks payable to NHSCC to NHSCC, 41 W. Ferry St., New Hope, PA 18938.
