The Central Pennsylvania Womyn's Chorus presents SHE-Bop, The Beat Goes On, Songs of the 50's, 60's & 70's on Saturday, May 31 @ 7:30pm at Unity Church of Harrisburg, 927 Wertzville Rd. Enola, PA and Sunday, June 1, 2014 beginning at 3:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York, 925 South George St, York, PA. Tickets are $15.00 each and available at the door. To order tickets in advance, call 717-564-0112. The Central Pennsylvania Womyn's Chorus brings together a diverse group of women, united by the joy of singing, to celebrate and empower women and to affirm a positive image of lesbians and feminists. Their concerts offer a safe and enjoyable environment for lesbians, feminists, gay men, human rights supporters, lovers of choral music, and our families, friends and neighbors to come together and celebrate our diversity as well as our common goals. The Womyn's Chorus will sing a wide variety of entertaining pop hits to include Time Warp from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, a medley of 50's tunes, Let the Good times Roll, Sixteen Candles, Lipstick on your Collar, Hold Me, Thrill Me, Shake, Rattle and Roll plus standards A Teenager in Love, One Fine Day, The Girl from Ipanema, You Don't Own Me, Chain of Fools, The Shadow of Your Smile, I Say a Little Prayer, The Pink Panther, a medlley of Beach Boys tunes, California Girls, In My Room, Wouldn't it be Nice and Chapel of Love plus favorite Beatles hits, Penny Lane, Yesterday, Blackbird and Yellow Submarine, along with The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Paul Simon's, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Van Morrison's Moondance and Sonny and Cher's, The Beat Goes On. The Chorus will be accompanied by Jordan Markham, piano, Renee Bartholomew, percussion and Pat George, electric bass.
