Alabama ACDA Community Festival Chorus

Location: Alabama, USA
Choir type: Community Choirs
Voicing: Mixed
The Alabama ACDA is encouraging ALL singers to attend the Alabama ACDA summer conference in Tuscaloosa on July 14 and 15.  Our guest speakers and clinicians are Patrick Freer and Sonja Sepúlveda.  The conference will include much of what we return for year after year: interest sessions by Alabama choral directors, reading sessions that encompass all ACDA R&S areas, food, fellowship, and fun.  NAfME Members: Alabama ACDA will cover ACDA membership for AVA (Alabama Vocal Association) members who are attending the summer conference for the first time. Include a completed membership form with your registration.

NEW THIS YEAR: we also invite you to invite your singers (high school age and up) to register for our first-ever COMMUNITY FESTIVAL CHORUS.  We are very excited to be offering this new opportunity for the community singers in our state.  This chorus will be part of the conference.  Members who sign up will rehearse the music on Monday, July 14 with clinicians, Dr. Ian Loeppky and Dr. Melinda Doyle.  They will then have a chance to perform those pieces on the concert on Monday night; Dr. Sepulveda'schoir, THE PALEMETTO SINGERS, will also be singing on that concert.

This is a very exciting endeavor and we would great appreciate your spreading the word and encouraging your singers to participate.  We certainly want to encourage participation in our Community Choirs throughout Alabama -- and what a perfect way to celebrate all they contribute to our Alabama Choral culture.
