Date: June 2, 2014
Location: England, United Kingdom
The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry with the Ministry of Defence, have announced that the Invictus Games presented by Jaguar Land Rover are to take place at the Olympic Park in September 10th - 14th 2014. The London 2012 Olympic children's anthem, 'Gloria In Londinium' written by ChoralNet member, Kathleen Shanks, is to be performed for the Invictus Games. The Royal Foundation describes the Invictus Games as a unique opportunity for the public to support those who have made a personal sacrifice for others but focus on what they can achieve, post injury. The rousing chorus of 'Gloria In Londinium', Invictus, Invicta captures the cry of the unconquered spirit.
'Gloria In Londinium' is published by the Hal Leonard Corporation (SSA). An SATB version, which can be pre-ordered, will be on sale later this year.
Of the games Prince Harry says: 'Ultimately, this is about the men and women who have given so much and deserve our support, in their recovery, rehabilitation and on leaving the armed forces. I know people will want to join me in cheering them on from the sidelines'.
