The Philadelphia Singers is the premier professional chorus of our region, established in 1972, with a standard roster of 32. Our symphonic ensemble, the Philadelphia Singers Chorale, is a mix of professionals and volunteers and was launched in 1991; it performs with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Pennsylvania Ballet, among others. The Artistic Director is responsible for sustaining and building on our musical legacy and for enhancing our image in the community.
The Artistic Director serves as the public face of The Philadelphia Singers, and duties include programming, musical preparation, auditions and conducting, as well as overseeing artistic outreach and education. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Artistic Director works closely with the Executive Director, Board president and staff and participates in fund-raising activities.
The position begins in fall of 2016; the new Artistic Director must be able to participate in planning the 2016-17 season in spring 2016.
