Women's Choir and Brass ensemble

Hello folks,

A colleague is looking for repertoire for a university women's choir and brass. I said I would put the word out on ChoralNet where everyone is so helpful! Thanks for any suggestions!

My Christmas cycle "A Child Comes Forth" (originally for SSA, harp and percussion) was done by Young Voices of Colorado in a version for choir and brass. The scoring was done over there, but I could source it if interested. The work in its original form has had a number of international performances. About 15 minutes in duration - 5 movements on Christmas texts. COntact me if interested in seeing sample score.

Hi Jackie!

Please listen to this exemple to see if it could be something of interest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCpma7lYBOg
If so I could make a re-arrangment of the piece (or the entier mass).

Take a look at Ruth Watson Henderson's Gloria for SSAA, brass quintet and percussion (marimba). It is a terrific piece. In addition, Gwyneth Walker arranged "How can I keep from singing" for brass and percussion accompaniment as well. I have used the two of them on the same program. The Henderson is published by Boosey and the Walker by ECS.

Hi Jackie!!!
David Brunner's JUBILATE DEO is wonderfully festive setting of Psalm 100. Uses a combination of both English and Latin texts. Brass, Organ and SSAA Boosey and Hawkes HL 48004849
There is also an SAB version that I have used with my church choir AND I have used them both together.
Best wishes
Catherine!

Jackie:

Pinkham's Christmas Cantata is available for trebles and brass in addition to the
more familiar mixed chorus and brass version.
