Auditions for Opus One Vocal Arts 2014-2015 Season

Opus One Vocal Arts, a chamber ensemble dedicated to performing exciting and varied repertoire from all genres of choral literature in Northern Delaware, is holding auditions for all voice parts for our 2014-2015 Season.
 
 
This is an exciting time to become a member of OOVA as we are in our 8th season together and experiencing growth in many ways. This season we will strenghten ties with our greater community as we partner with various chariitable organizations to help bring awareness to their cause and our music. We continue to explore varied repertoire from the silly to the sublime...In October 2014, we will be presenting "A Halloween Spooktacular" Concert which is family friendly and will benefit a local Day School. December 2014 we will put on a "Holly, Jolly Caberet" which will allow us to perform for our audience in a more initmate setting. In May 2015 our big event is our spring concert, "For A Royal Wedding" which highlights music written for and performed at Royal Weddings!
 
Potential New Members should possess the following skills:
 
  • Previous Choral Experience
  • Ability to blend in a small group of voices
  • Good sightsinging skills
While we are currently auditioning all voice parts, preference is being given to Tenors and Basses as we have more opening in these sections currently.
 
If you would like to audtion, please contact our Music Director, Ryan Pryslak to reserve a spot on Sunday August 10th 2014 between 6p.m.-8p.m.
 
Auditions are held at OOVA's Rehearsal Venue, Calvary Episcopal Church 304 Lore Ave Wilmington, DE 19809
 
Auditions will last approximately 10-15 minutes and consist of the following:
  • Short Vocalization/Excercises
  • Pitch Matching
  • Sight Singing Excerpt
  • Please come prepared to sing "America the Beautiful" a cappella (in the key of B flat)
