First Unitarian Church of Chicago seeks experienced part-time collaborative keyboardist to play for 48 Sunday morning worship services and 41 weekly Thursday night adult choir rehearsals annually. Music degree preferred, but not required.
Duties include hymns, preludes, postludes, offertories, and collaborative work with our adult choir, soloists, and instrumentalists on both organ and piano. Keyboardist should possess excellent skills in a variety of genres on both organ and piano. Position reports to and collaborates closely with the Music Director, and occasionally with the Senior Ministers.
Additional opportunities include weddings, memorial services, Christmas Eve services, and additional services as negotiated.
The sanctuary piano is a Petrof 9 foot grand. The organ is a restored 3-manual, 40-rank E.M. Skinner organ in our main sanctuary, and we have a Schlicker neo-baroque organ in the adjacent chapel.
