Doug PetermanLocation: Ontario, Canada
I am a singer, arranger, composer and high school choir conductor living in Stratford, Ontario.
I teach at Waterloo Collegiate Institute in Waterloo, Ontario in four different departments: Technology, Science, ESL and Family Studies. I am also an honourary member of the music department since I conduct the school choir, help out with vocal coaching for school musicals and run an annual "WCI Idol" pop singing competition.
I am a church musician as well: a member of Stratford's Zion Lutheran church choir, where I have also served as substitute conductor and often as leader of small groups.
I have had three careers -- I first spent 20 years in the Canadian Navy as a seagoing logistician, retiring in 1999 as a Commander. In the middle I was a furniture designer/builder and high-end cabinetmaker for nearly a decade. Teaching is my third, and best, career! Some of us take a while to get things right...
