Sergio Rodríguez

Location: Spain

    Sergio Rodríguez González was born in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) in 1982. He began to study electronic organ when he was seven years old at the Musical Academy Ortí and completed his training at the Centre of Musical Education MezzoForte in Puerto de la Cruz, following the Trinity College educational plan in 1995.

    Determined to expand his musical knowledge, in 1998 he began studying piano and theory of music with Ismael Hernández Perera under the educational plan of the Royal Schools of Music of London.

    He is graduated in Teaching Training and Musical Education by University of La Laguna.

    He is currently studying singing at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Santa Cruz de Tenerife with María Célida Alzola.

    He has also taken lessons in piano with Fran Temoche, guitar with Carlos Mozzi, harmony with Juan Antonio Cantero and singing with Beatriz Ramos.

    In 1996 he became an active member of Reyes Bartlet Cultural Association, being section leader and piano accompanist for Reyes Bartlet Choir, David Goldsmith Youth Choir and School Choirs Project of Puerto de la Cruz. From 2002 to 2013 he co-organized some of the projects of the Reyes Bartlet Cultural Association and taught music courses in the Choir School for primary and high school students (School Choirs Project of Puerto de la Cruz).

    In addition to organizing several concerts throughout the insular area, he has also participated as a speaker at the Macaronesian Cultural Heritage Seminar about whistle language and music SilboArte in Vallehermoso (La Gomera).

    He has composed music for instrumental ensembles and vocal groups; writing commissioned works by individual people, cultural institutions, theater companies, film productions and art exhibitions.

    From 2003 to 2008, he was the conductor of María Auxiliadora Polyphonic Choir in Arafo.

    From 2010 to 2012, he was the conductor of Rondalla Gran Tinerfe in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

    He is the conductor of Unum Cor Choir (since 2006), Adagio Nesoi Choir (since 2011) and University of La Laguna Polyphonic Choir (since 2012), three different choirs in San Cristóbal de La Laguna.

    In 2010 he created his own music publishing company, 54musics.com, editing, publishing and offering different musical services to both national and international composers, artists and ensembles.
