CAPPELLA GLORIANA, San Diego's professional chamber choir since 1996, performs and records the world's finest choral music from the Renaissance to the present day and mentors younger singers in the choral arts. Co-founded by Virginia Sublett and Stephen Sturk, the 8-16-voice choir presents a season of 4-8 concerts in the southern California region. Cappella Gloriana has produced three commercial cds, toured in Germany twice and performed beyond San Diego in Mexico, Los Angeles and Palm Springs. Under the artistic direction of Stephen Sturk, the choir is "Ensemble in Residence" at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, San Diego, (where Sturk is "Composer in Residence") and at St. Andrew the Apostle Episcopal church, Encinitas, CA. The choir is dedicated to performing the compositions of its co-founder Sturk and to presenting new music and music by California composers.
