Martin J. Wimmer

Martin J. Wimmer is an award-winning public school music teacher and composer. He spent most of his career in the Depew Public Schools near Buffalo, New York, USA teaching chorus, band, and general music. He also launched the Freudig Singers Choral Composition Competition and served as its coordinator for the first four years. His widely performed choral work, Peace, was a finalist in the 2007 Ithaca College Competition and First Prize Winner in the 2010 Unitarian Universalist Musicians Network Competition. It is published by Imagine Music Publishing. Imagine Music Publishing is Mr. Wimmer’s primary publisher and will be releasing more than a dozen of his band, choral, and piano works for publication in the coming year.
Martin J. Wimmer currently lives in Canton, New York. He is a graduate of Syracuse University and The University at Buffalo. His composition teachers included Daniel S. Godfrey, Brian Israel and Roland E. Martin.
