J.P. Kentros

Location: Utah, USA
J.P. Kentros is the Choir Director at Tuacahn High School for the Performing Arts in Ivins, UT. Since beginning this assignment, he has directed groups receiving first place finishes at the High School Shakespeare Madrigal Competition, the SUPAF Award for Outstanding High School Choirs, and superior ratings at Region and State Festivals.
 
Kentros is the proud holder of a Bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University (double major in Music Education and Theatre Education), and upon graduation was named the Outstanding Graduate of SUU’s Music Department in 2009. Kentros is an active member of the National Association for Music Education, Utah Music Educators Association, and the American Choral Director’s Association.
 
As well as directing the THS Choirs, Kentros is the music director for Tuacahn High School’s Musical Theater program, works as a private voice teacher to students from elementary to high school ages, and has had the privilege of guest-music-directing both SUU and Dixie State University mainstage productions.
 
In 2013, J.P. Kentros was named Co-Teacher of the Year at Tuacahn High School alongside his good friend and colleague, Jason Bonham.
 
Kentros owns a home in St. George, UT with his beautiful wife, Anni, and looks forward to many years of training young singers in the area.
