Steven Zimmerman is a graduate of William Paterson University with a degree in Music Education, concentration in voice. He studied under the director of world-renowned and Grammy nominated bass-baritone Stephen Bryant. While at WPUNJ, Steven had the pleasure of participation in Opera Workshop, Chamber Singers, Concert Band, and the Concert Choir where he was tenor Section Leader and Assistant Conductor. He was also tenor soloist in oratorios such as Haydn’s Creation, Handel’s Messiah, and Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
Steven has performed as soloist all over Northern and Central NJ with groups such as Pro Arte Chorale, North Jersey Chorus, Masterwork Chorus and the Bach Vesper Choir where he has been featured soloist in a number of Bach cantatas. Steven has also been featured with Opera at Florham where he has most recently played Borsa in Verdi’s Rigoletto.
Steven also freelances as an organist all over the NJ area. He also taught one year as Choral and Orchestral Director at Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes. Aside from the Choir and Orchestra, he also team taught the Symphonic/Concert Band and teaches Music Theory.
