In June, 2009 I retired as Director of the Choirs of Auburn High School, Auburn, New York. I began my teaching career in 1970. From 1986 to my retirement I conducted the SATB Concert Choir, the SATB Chamber Singers and the Women's Chorale.
Prior to this, I conducted the choirs and the orchestra at SUNY Oswego, Oswego, NY, conducted the choirs and taught music history at Missouri Western State College (now University). From 1978-1983 I conducted choirs and taught voice at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana.
I recieved my BS in Music Ed and Music History and Literature from Ball State University (1970) under Don Neuen,George Corwin, Robert Rockabrand, George Newton (voice) and Robert Hargreaves MM in conducting at Northwestern University under Robert A. Harris and John Painter (1978). From 1978-1983, I was a Doctoral Fellow the faculty at Ball State University in Vocal Performance and Conducting studying under Robert Hargreaves (conducting),Phillip Ewart, Patricia Scheuer and John Meadows (voice) but I must give great credit and gratitude to William Wakeland for much guidance from 1966 to the present who helped me put it all together.
I have performed in operas and recitals at Ball State; Oswego, NY; St. Joseph, MO and in Munich, Germany. I have adjudicated choirs and presented workshops in Indiana, Missouri, and New York.
In New York, I have conducted the Oswego County Choral Festival, the Area All-State Festival in IIlion, NY and the Westchester County Area All-State at SUNY Purchase.
