Timothy Shaw was born and raised in idyllic Keene, New Hampshire. He began piano lessons at the age of eight and has been playing, studying and writing music ever since. He has taught composition and music theory both privately and at the university level, and he has served as Organist/Choir Director in several churches throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic. He has composed extensively for the church, and he is published by Augsburg Fortress, Choristers Guild, Concordia, Fred Bock, Hal Leonard, Hope, MorningStar Music, Neil A. Kjos and Shawnee Press. He regularly fulfills commissions, including those for David Kim (Philadelphia Orchestra concertmaster), Anne Martindale-Williams (Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra principal cellist) and Abington Presbyterian Church (Abington, PA), among others.
