Catherine DeLanoy is a musician currently living in the suburbs of Chicago. She has taught music at every grade level in the public school system. She recently retired from Westmont Junior High School where she taught general music and directed their four choirs. WJH choirs consistently earned top scores from adjudicators and had the honor of being invited to perform for music education students at Northwestern University, as well as of being chosen to do a performance clinic for music educators at the 2011 IMEA state conference.
Ms. DeLanoy enjoyed arranging compositions for her choirs and has octavos published by Shawnee Press, Boosey & Hawkes, Bri-Lee Music and Carl Fischer Inc. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She went on to earn her Masters of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. Her newest publication is WARMING UP WITH ROUNDS (Shawnee Press).
Outside of school, she sings professionally as a member and soloist with the critically acclaimed Chicago Choral Artists. She can be heard on many of their numerous concert CD's. In addition, she works as a clinician, instructor and adjudicator whenever possible. In the summer she can often be found on a cruise ship lecturing on "Classical Music You Know and Love". Her love of music history continually motivates her to make classical music accessible and exciting for everyone.
So, okay...this picture is BIG. Anyone know how to make the darn thing smaller?
