Patrick Flahive, has served in music ministry and education at Sacred Heart Church and School in Covina, California since 1985 and is recognized throughout the United States and abroad as one of the preeminent conductors of student choirs in the Catholic Church.
Mr. Flahive is president of American Federation Pueri Cantores, the Catholic Church’s organization of student choirs, and is Founder/Artistic Director of Pueri Cantores San Gabriel Valley, an independent, nonprofit choral organization training preparatory, intermediate and advanced choristers in the County of Los Angeles. In addition to liturgical service, his choirs have concertized, recorded music for film and television, appeared on international broadcasts, and made numerous international and national tours.
Mr. Flahive served for eight years as Vice President of the International Federation of Pueri Cantores and currently serves on that organizations’ executive committees for spirituality and education. Other international volunteer activities have included five years as choral director to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta on its annual pilgrimages to Lourdes, France, and adjudicating the prestigious Rassegna Internazionale di Cappelle Musicale in Loreto, Italy. He was also a member of the Jubilee 2000 committee for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Mr. Flahive holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Chapman University, Orange, California, and California State University, Los Angeles. He expresses boundless joy and gratitude to God for his thirty year marriage to Lauren Macy Flahive, with whom he shares three beautiful children: Sean, Carrah and James.
