From 1996 to 2012 I sang with St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral Parramatta, in multicultural Western Sydney, as a Cantor and Chorister (see photo of St Pats Choir and the Gregorian Schola of Sydney with Bishop Anthony Fisher, I'm on Bp Fisher's left). In 2013 I became an online Anglican ministry student with St Marks National Theological College, Canberra, and I'm currently a Chorister and Cantor with the St James Singers at St James Anglican Church King Street, Sydney, Australia, a High Church parish with a wonderful music program led by Warren Trevelyan-Jones and Alistair Nelson, several cantors, a professional choir, and a parish choir. The St James congregation and Rev. Andrew Sempell, the Rector of St James, support and encourage the music ministers, and St James Choir is a paid choir, has a concert series, and has produced several CDs. St James King Street (see www.sjks.org.au) is an inner-city traditional church that attracts many tourists, being one of the earliest Church buildings in Sydney. It has an active team of bellringers and three services on Sunday mornings (7.45 am spoken service for the early birds, 9.00 am Sung Eucharist with St James Singers or a Cantor and Kids@Church program, and the 11.00 am Choral Eucharist with St James Choir, processions and incense). There is a weekly Choral Evensong on Wednesdays with St James Choir, and said Evening Prayer on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays St James Choir also sings Choral Evensong on one Sunday afternoon each month.
