Jim (James) Way, BA Berry College, MA Vanderbilt University's Peabody College, ASCAP, songwriter/composer, singer, and choral director. I live in Cathedral City, California, and devote full-time to my music activities. In 1985, I received an award for Excellence in Writing from the Christian Writers Guild of San Diego County for my children's song, “Birds of a Feather.” In 1986, I received the Guild’s award for the Best Song of the Year for “A Christmas Legend.” Also in 1986, my contest winner with co-writer Alan Weckler, “Christmas In San Diego” was released on the indie label, Red Letter Records. In 1993, I began writing a full-length musical about the life and work of Martha Berry, the founder of Berry College, my alma mater. The writing spanned nine years. The musical was mounted in a multimedia production at Berry College as a major component of the college’s centennial celebration in 2002. I am a self publisher.
