Jim Way, BA Berry College, MA Peabody College a division of Vanderbilt University, ASCAP, songwriter, singer, and choral director, lives in
Cathedral City, California, and devotes full-time to his music activities.
In 1985, he received an award for Excellence in Writing from the
Christian Writers Guild of San Diego County for his children's song,
“Birds of a Feather.” In 1986, he received the Guild’s award for the
Best Song of the Year for “A Christmas Legend.” Also in 1986, his
contest winner with co-writer Alan Weckler, “Christmas In San
Diego” was released on the indie label, Red Letter Records. In 1993,
he began writing a full-length musical about the life and work of
Martha Berry, the founder of Berry College, his alma mater. The
writing spanned nine years. The musical was mounted in a multimedia
production at Berry College as the centerpiece of the college’s
