Michael Vincent Bizzaro is a teacher, conductor, composer, and lyric baritone with aspirations of being a college professor and choral conductor in his future. Born in rural Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, he knew his calling was in music from a young age. He was active in the choral and instrumental departments (trumpet) all through elementary and high school. He took his vocal talents to many district, regional, state, and eastern division honors choirs serving as a member of the choirs as well as a concert soloist culminating with a performance in Carnegie Hall under the baton of Dr. Anton Armstrong.
Upon graduating high school in 2006, he enrolled at Ohio Northern University where he studied Music Education and Music Composition. He was a frequent performer in musical theater and opera productions performing many lead roles. As a member of the Men’s Chorus and the select mixed ensemble University Singers, he served as the bass section leader and assistant conductor. He was also a member of the select 8 person vocal jazz octet, The Northernaires who served as the opening act for the world famous Rockapella on the campus of Ohio Northern University. In what he considers his most accomplished achievement, he was one of 3 individuals hand chosen by Ohio Northern University’s President and first lady, Dr. and Mrs. Kendall Baker to travel with them across the country to alumni events and provide entertainment at dinner events. It was through this opportunity that he fell in love with Colorado.
After graduating from Ohio Northern with distinction in November 2010, Mr. Bizzaro decided to further his studies in music and enrolled at the University of Colorado to pursue a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting. Currently Mr. Bizzaro is Director of Choirs at Fountain-Fort Carson High School in Fountain, CO where he directs the schools 5 choirs, is music director of the school musical, and coaches basketball. Mr. Bizzaro is also a tenor in the Denver based choir "Kantorei" under the artistic direction of Dick Larsen. Kantorei travels nationally and internationally and have performed at National ACDA on 2 separate occasions.
Outside of music, Mr. Bizzaro has a passion for sports; both as a fan and participant. He is an avid golfer and has most recently fallen in love with downhill skiing in the Rocky Mountains. Mr. Bizzaro enjoys traveling throughout the country as well as abroad experiencing different cultures and cuisine. In his very little free time enjoys a good book, listening to music, and going out with his friends for good conversation, good food, and good beer.
