Corey Fowler is currently the Director of Choirs at Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio and is the Director of Music Ministry at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Cortland, Ohio. He is also the Northeast Region Chair of the Ohio Choral Director’s Association. Mr. Fowler graduated from Kent State University in 2009, earning a bachelors degree in Music Education. While at KSU, he participated in the KSU Chorale and Ars Nova Singers and was the Undergraduate Conductor of the KSU Women’s Chorus. Mr. Fowler has studied conducting with Ben Ayling, voice with Jane Page, Wade Raridon, and Tim Culver, piano with Candice Earnhart-Stojkov and Jerry Wong, and organ with Daniel Laginya. As a proponent of music education, choral singing, and liturgical music he is an active member of several organizations including the American Choral Directors Association, Ohio Music Education Association, and National Association of Pastoral Musicians. Mr. Fowler is also an accomplished bass-baritone and has most recently sung the role of George Jones in Street Scene, the inaugural production of the Nightingale Opera Theatre. He has also sang in the chorus of Opera Cleveland’s productions of Lucia di Lammermoor, Don Giovanni, and La Boheme. Other roles include Frank in KSU Opera’s Die Fledermaus and Bartolo and Antonio in KSU’s The Marriage of Figaro. Equally at home on the oratorio stage, Mr. Fowler was the bass soloist for the Messiah with the KSU Orchestra and Chorus and the Schubert Mass No. 2 in G with Kent State Salem. He previously taught at Grand Valley Local Schools in Orwell, Ohio. ChoralNet Communities
