Christine Hoffman made her debut at age six, singing “Beautiful Savior” while standing on a folding chair at the mother/daughter banquet at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson, Wisconsin. The applause hooked her for good. Christine is a life-long choral singer, the last 25 years with The Dessoff Choirs in New York. She recently prepared the Dessoff Chamber Choir for its Town Hall and Late Night with David Letterman appearances (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbbSXkRhg8w) backing Ray Davies and his band in the Kinks Choral Collection. Christine has held several administrative positions with the chorus, including two terms as president, and was recently appointed chair of the search committee to find Dessoff’s next Music Director.
Currently Director of Communications for St. James’ Church in Manhattan, Christine has worked with/for the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, the Music Publishers Association, and the Music Library Association during and after a long career as a music librarian. She has served on Board of ChoralNet and is proud of its many resources for choral musicians.
