The mission of the ACDA is to inspire excellence in choral music through education, performance, composition, and advocacy.
I founded (2007) and direct an energetic unauditioned women's ensemble in central NY state that:
Challenges and educates singers while striving toward mastery of the cornerstones of choral technique: intonation, rhythmic precision, singing with a variety of dynamics and tone colors, communicative diction, and sensible phrasing.
Explores a wide variety of musical genres, including music of other cultures, historical periods, and in other languages.
Honors a productive spirit of collaboration and community to create a judgment-free atmosphere in which to make music together.
Prepares at least two or more full-length concerts each year, often in collaboration with local or regional artists, dancers, and instrumentalists. Additional opportunities may include performing for worship services or for private organizations.
