Ben Hanson

Location: Minnesota, USA
Ben Hanson, freelance musician and educator, completed his B.A. in Vocal Music Education at the College of Saint Scholastica. As a pianist and tenor, he performs and educates in the Duluth/Superior area to students of all ages. Ben teaches general music at Unity High School and show/jazz choir at East High School in the Duluth district. On top of his duties with the Duluth district, he also teaches piano and voice lessons in his own music studio. Along with his teaching duties, he is an active pianist and vocalist, conductor and arranger. He has studied voice with Bill Bastian and piano with Vicki Ott. He has music directed various shows including Little Shop of Horrors, Avenue Q, All Shook Up, Fame Jr. and Singing in the Rain.

His accomplishments include receiving a certificate of Academic Excellence from the College of St. Scholastica for contributions to the Choral Program. He also received 6 consecutive Superior ratings in the DMTA/MFMC junior festival

He will be music directing and playing keys for Godspell at the Duluth Playhouse in April, 2013. Ben is a licensed K-12 teacher in the state of Minnesota and is a member of DMTA, MMEA & MFMC.
