Born in Solingen, Germany, on November 24th , 1975, he started to study music in his own home thanks to his cousin Carmelo Testa. After the early musical experiences he was taught by the Music Teacher Vincenzo Cecere so as to take his degree as a Trumpet player at “Vincenzo Bellini” Conservatory in Palermo with an evaluation of 8/10. Always assisted by the same teacher, he kept on refining his skills and took part in a number of music meetings and higher level stages held by the Teachers Pasquale Cecere (tr.) While serving the Italian Army (1998) he played in the Italian Navy National Band conducted by Massimo Martinelli and in other minor Navy bands such as the Navy Band of the Aircarrier “Giuseppe Garibaldi”, the one of “Maridist Taranto”, the one of  Leghorn Navy Academy, whether in Italy – Elba Island, La Spezia, La Sapienza University in Rome, Taranto -  or in Europe during the Euromarfor Mission in France e Spain.
In 1999 and 2000 he was selected for  Operalaboratorio, a project about the Opera genre worked out by Ars nova, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Michigan Opera Theatre, Detroit University, where he worked as an archivist in 1999 and archivist and Art Director’s assistant in 2000. Being selected as trumpet player, he took part, according to his qualification, to a stage for the apprentices of  Operalaboratorio organized by the Teatro Massimo archive. Along the relating activities, he also plays in the Kandinskij Chamber Orchestra edition of Concerto per la notte di Natale 1956 di L. Dallapiccola, conducted by Riccardo Ceni, in the  Santa Maria della Gancia Church in Palermo.
In July 2000 he took part in the 376th  Festino di Santa Rosalia in Palermo as a player of “Rosa del ciel” Brass Ensemble together with the Choir and the Treble Voices Choir of Palermo’s Teatro Massimo and De Simone’s Popular Songs Company conducted by Piemontesi with the support by Roberto De Simone, Goran Bregovic and Vincenzo Consolo, Sicilian poet.
He has been engaged in didactic activities for the Ars Nova in Palermo as a supply teacher of Trumpet and for the Music Association “G.Verdi” in Sant’Agata di Militello as a teacher of theory and solfeggio and brass instruments.
He permanently plays trumpet and piccolo trumpet in the Kandinskij Chamber Orchestra conducted by Aldo Lombardo. In addition, he has been Assistant to the Art Director of  “Concerti di Prima Estate”.
Lately, he has been Conductor and Art Director for the associations  “G. Verdi” in Sant’Agata Militello and “Associazione musico-culturale Città di Capo d’Orlando” in Capo d’Orlando.
He took part in the Cultural Olympiad linked to Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics as a trumpet player in the Utah Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Barbara Scowcroft (Utah Symphony Orchestra) and in the Brass Quintet performing in Jackson WY, Driggs ID, Provo UT and Salt Lake City UT,  at Abravanel Hall and Saint Luca Church (Ars Nova Association).

He has played in the Messina Brass Band conducted by Giuseppe Paratore, accompanying the worldwide known soloist Steven Mead (Euphonium) in several concerts.

He holds the office of Art Director of Piazza Verdi 43, a well known agency offering musical and organizational services for musical shows (www.piazzaverdi43.com).

After joining the SIAE (Italian Society of Authors and Publishers) as a Composer, he has edited many a reworking of ancient music e.g. the modern adaptations of Al fragor di lieta tromba by Alessandro Scarlatti (unpublished), of songs and lyrics belonging to the Folkloristic and Band Music tradition of the Nebrodi area. He has reworked and adapted ancient and modern music, with particular reference to the repertory for brass and wind instruments, and has composed several marches and scores for brass and wind ensembles. Furthermore, he has found and brought back to light a number of forgotten lyrics and works whether for Orchestra or Banda, whether for Voice or Piano such as:

Serenata per tre voci, strumenti e coro by Alessandro Scarlatti, written for the nuptial ceremony of Charles VI of  Habsburg and performer in Naples in 1714. Philological transcription and critical edition.

At present, he is the Art Director and Master Conductor of the Corpo Bandistico Città di Sant’Agata Militello, dell’Associazione “G. Verdi” (www.bandasantagatamilitello.com).  While leading this band, he has had the honour and pleasure to have it play on such occasions as:

The National Contest for Musical Bands “Energia in Banda” organized by ENEL and ANBIMA on September 19th, 2004 in Piazza della Signoria, Florence. On that occasion, it was the only band from Sicily and was placed fourth;

The International Music Tournament held from October 7th to October 17th in Malgrat de Mar (Barcelona, Spain) placing third in the A1 Category of Concert Bands in the presence of the President of the World Bands (Wasbe) and of the jury, whose chairman was the President of the Spanish Federation of Bands.

In addition, he has had the honour to conduct the Soloists of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in several concerts:

His performances  as Trumpet Leader have been highly appreciated and has had the pleasure to play with: Max Garrubba, Dilù Miller, Angelo Morabito, Blue in Blues, Puccio Panettieri, Peppe Imbroscì, Joe Pedros, Dick Dastardly Band (whom he permanently cooperates and plays with in many a concert), Adels, James Thompson, Salvatore Cacciatore, Nino e Cinzia Milia.

For the musical association “G. Verdi” and for Artant.org as well, he has organized a number of courses at different levels for classical, light and jazz music among which the most remarkable are the ones with:

He gave his collaboration to the organization of the voice contest “La Piazza Ritrovata”  servicing as member of the selecting jury in 2006 and 2007 together with the “C.E.T.” managed by Mogol who was both a juryman and the chairman of the commission.

He permanently cooperates as a composer with DIMI Edizioni Musicali belonging to DIMI S.p.A. (Italian Music Innovation Department) in Rome (www.dimi.it) among whose members there are important Italian musicians e.g. Walter Attanasi e Beppe Vessicchio. Moreover, DIMI S.p.A. is entrusted by many important artists of the Italian classical and light music e.g. Paoli, Vanoni, Dalla, Fiorello, just to name some.

At present, he is attending the Biennio Sperimentale di Tromba at “Vincenzo Bellini” conservatory in Palermo under the guide of Pasquale Cecere e Nicola Genualdi. In addition, he is an auditor in the classes of Orchestra Conduction and Orchestra Composition held by Carmelo Caruso and Marco Betta respectively.

Since September 2007 he has been a student of Daniel Oren for Orchestral Conduction during the staging of:

“Un ballo in Maschera” by Giuseppe Verdi, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (September 2007);
“La Vedova Allegra” by Franz Lehar, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma (December 2007);
“La Sonnambula” by Vincenzo Bellini, Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova.(April 2008).
