Randall Davidson named National Lutheran Choir’s Administrative Director
Minneapolis, MN – Randall Davidson has been named Administrative Director of the National Lutheran Choir in a newly-defined position that will partner with Artistic Director, David Cherwien.

“The National Lutheran Choir is excited to work with Randall in pursuit of our mission as a national leader among professional choirs and as an institution celebrating the universal power of spirituality through our Lutheran faith,” said Artistic Director, David Cherwien. “I believe we are fortunate to have found someone with Randall’s experience to help our organization build on the successes of our first quarter century.”
Davidson has recently been the Fine Arts Manager at Augsburg College and has spent the last five years as General Director of Junior Composers, a residential summer camp for young musicians age 14 to 20 based in Minneapolis, a position he will continue to hold.
“I have followed the National Lutheran Choir from its inception with Larry Fleming in 1986 through its ascent to a premiere professional ensemble under the leadership of David Cherwien,” said Davidson. “I am excited for this opportunity to help the singers, the Board and members of the wider community support and promote the remarkable work of the NLC.” Davidson, who begins his duties on October 3, will supervise a professional staff and partner with the activist Board of Directors.
The National Lutheran Choir, celebrating its 26th anniversary, is a 60-member chorus that performs an annual four-concert series in the Twin Cities, undertakes tours throughout the United States, produces recordings and publishes a catalogue of new music through Morningstar Music Publishing in St. Louis, Missouri.
