Matthew Caine is Music Director of the Columbia Choral Society, Columbia, SC, and Director of Music at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, Camden, SC. Matt has presented interest sessions at national and regional conferences of the American Choral Directors' Association.
Matt also is the Founder and Artistic Director of Ensemble Mir (Tampa, FL), a chamber chorus founded in 2010 in order to bring Bulgarian choral music to audiences in the United States and beyond. His article, "A Biography and Conductor's Analysis of Todor Popov's Choral Cycles," was featured in the December 2010 issue of the Choral Journal.
Previously, Matt has served other churches in full-time and part-time capacities and as Adjunct Professor of Music at Claflin University and Allen University, as well as having taught courses at the University of South Carolina.
Matt holds the Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting from the University of South Carolina, the Master of Music in Choral Conducting and Vocal Performance from the University of South Florida, the Master of Music Education in Instrumental Music from Samford University, and the Bachelor of Music in Church Music from Birmingham-Southern College.
