Peter Robb is founder and artistic director of picfest - Pacific International Choral Festivals (* see below). He has directed choirs and taught in elementary, middle, and high school and university settings in addition to working with civic and professional choruses during his more than three decades as a choral director.
For thirteen years, Robb led Oregon Festival Choirs, often preparing treble choirs for the Oregon Bach Festival, Eugene Ballet, Eugene Symphony and Eugene Concert Choir. The Choir’s memorable final performance was the 2012 OBF production and Discovery Series of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with Helmuth Rilling. The Discovery Series was captured in video for the Digital Bach Project series on the OBF website.
Robb continues to prepare children’s choirs for major performances and is active as a clinician and guest conductor. His choral compositions and arrangements are published with Hal Leonard and Colla Voce Music. His Missa Brevis No.1 has been performed at Carnegie Hall, Leipzig’s Thomaskirche, the American Choral Directors Association National Conference and July 2014 in Canterbury Cathedral and London’s Southwark Cathedral.
*Since 1998, picfest has been a leader in non-competetive youth choir gatherings and has recently expanded into a season of two week-long festivals each summer. With its list of incredible guest conductors, innovative programming and long partnership with the renowned Oregon Bach Festival, picfest has attracted a growing list of the finest boychoirs, girlchoirs, children's choirs, young men's and young women's choirs from across North America and around the world.
