Dr. Thomas Bookhout is the Director of Performing Arts at Scottsdale Christian Academy in Phoenix, Arizona, and Choir Director at Camelback Bible Church in Paradise Valley. From 2003 to 2011 he was  Pastor of Music Ministries at Camelback Bible Church. Bookhout’s prior positions include Musical Director of the Taghkanic Chorale in New York, Headmaster of the Northern Dutchess Christian School (NY), Director of Choral Activities at the University of Charleston (WV), Chorusmaster of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Director of the Arizona State University Women’s Chorus, and Director of Music at the Christian boarding academy The Stony Brook School, on Long Island.

 

Bookhout earned his DMA in choral music at Arizona State University, his MM in choral conducting at the Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester), and his BMus in vocal and instrumental music education from Houghton College. His teachers and coaches have included Don Neuen, Donald Bailey, Dale Warland, Eric Nelson, Joseph Flummerfelt and Frauke Haaseman.
