Dan received his Masters Degree in Music Composition from the University of Colorado in 2004. In his professional life, Dan serves as the Director of Choral Activities at Laurel Highlands Middle School in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and performs and tours with the 249th Army Band, where he plays trombone, bass guitar, and is frequently a featured vocalist. Equally at home in music theater as well as the choral stage, Dan has directed performances of Little Shop of Horrors, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Mame, and performed in productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Grease!, Hello, Dolly!, and Runaways, to name a few. Dan obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, with a voice concentration, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has held other teaching positions at the University of Colorado, Delware County Commnity College as well as public schools in and around Boulder, Colorado, has directed several community and church choirs, and has several years of experience teaching voice privately. While earning his Composition Masters Degree, Dan became a founding member of Pendulum, CU's new music concert series, where he served as Program manager for two years. As a composer, Dan regularly writes for and collaborates with local organizations, most recently having completed a commission for the Golden Concert Choir, as well as a commission for Lucile Erwin Middle School in Loveland, CO for their 10th Anniversary celebration. Dan's professional memberships include the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA), Colorado Music Educator's Association (CMEA) and ASCAP.
