A native of Southwest Virginia, Eric W. Hodges holds the Master of Music degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey. A former member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, he has performed with many of the world’s renowned orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the New Jersey Symphony.
Mr. Hodges has performed with choral ensembles such as the King College Collegium Musicum, King College Symphonic Choir, Brevard Music Center Opera, Voices of the Mountains, East Tennessee State University Opera Theatre, and the Milligan College Chamber Singers. He is also active as a tenor soloist, appearing in opera, choral concerts, musical theater, and recital. He has also appeared as a soloist with local orchestras such as the Johnson City Symphony and Symphony of the Mountains.
Mr. Hodges has conducted various area church and college choirs, and currently serves as Minister of Music at the First Baptist Church of Weber City, Virginia. He has served on the music faculties of Northeast State Community College, East Tennessee State University, and King College, where he has taught courses in Applied Voice, Chorus, and Music Appreciation. As a composer and arranger, he has written music for the his own church music ministry, other local church choirs, the Voices of the Mountains Chorus, and the King College Symphonic Choir.
