John Brough

John BroughDr. John Brough is Artistic Director of Edmonton's Da Camera Singers, Associate Conductor of the Richard Eaton Singers and Organist and Choirmaster of Holy Trinity Anglican Church. He is on faculty as a contract instructor, teaching conducting and musicology, at both the University of Alberta and Concordia University College in Edmonton Alberta Canada. He is active as an adjudicator all across Canada in the disciplines of piano, organ, choral and church music, and sits on the board of examiners for Conservatory Canada and has also examined for the RCCO (Royal Canadian College of Organists). John holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance (Ottawa), Master and Doctor of Music degrees in Choral Conducting (Alberta). He also holds Associate diplomas from both the RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto), and the RCCO. His main area of research is in the music and liturgy of the Anglican Church of Canada, and music of Renaissance and 20th century England as well as Canadian church music. His Doctoral thesis is titled "From Confederation to the Millennium: Choral Music at Christ Church Cathedral Ottawa". He has a strong interest in the technological aspects of music, including blogging and podcasting. As well as being a contributing poster for Choralnet's ChoralBlog, John is also creator and author of Podium Speak (see webpage links in the lower right of this page).
