Brian E. Bohrer has been teaching vocal music for eleven years in the Rush-Henrietta Central School District in Rochester, NY, where his choirs have earned NYSSMA Gold with Distinction and and Superior Ratings in evaluation. Currently, he directs three choirs and a piano introduction course at the Rush-Henrietta Senior High School. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Education and Vocal Performance from Ithaca College and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music. He made his professional debut with Ithaca Opera in 2000, appearing in Le nozze di Figaro, and has since performed roles with Opera Rochester and the Rochester Opera Factory. Most recently, he sang the role of Alfred in Die Fledermaus. In addition, he has sung with the Rochester Oratorio Society, and performs frequently as a soloist with the Irondequoit Chorale. Mr. Bohrer also serves as director of the Asbury Singers and the Youth Music program at Asbury First United Methodist Church in Rochester, NY. He resides in Irondequoit, NY with his wife Melissa and son Charles.
