Peter Haley is Director of Choirs at East Gaston High School in Mt. Holly, North Carolina, and also serves as Assistant Conductor of the Gaston County Choral Ensemble. He holds the Bachelor of Arts in Music from Wingate University and the Master of Church Music degree from Samford University. He has studied conducting under Kenney Potter and Philip Copeland, and voice with John Blizzard, Jessie Wright-Martin, and Paul A. Richardson. Peter currently serves on the Presbyterian Associaton of Musicians' Executive Board, and Membership Development Committee. He is a member of ACDA, NAFME, the Hymn Society in the United States and Canada, Choristers' Guild, and the AGO. His graduate research focused on the compositions of Arvo Pärt and yielded a paper, "An Analysis of Political, Religious, and Social Influences in Arvo Pärt's Early Sacred Choral Works," which was accepted for presentation at the 2012 Southern Division Convention of the American Choral Directors Association.
