Ryan Boyce

Ryan BoyceScientist, Sales Professional and Musician… He has been immersed in music for over 20 years with training in music theory and piano. Since 1990 he has been organist and choir director of various churches and groups across Barbados, and has been in consultation with several individuals and organisations on vocal technique, expression and performance. Ryan has been involved in musical clinics in Barbados and North America and has been involved with and led musical productions across the Caribbean. An institution to which he has been affiliated is The Cavite Chorale of the UWI at Cave Hill, as Assistant Director (2001-2009). It is about a decade that he has been arranging and composing for various productions, (and in more recent times) such as the Crop-Over Folk Concert (‘05& ‘07), The Prime Minister’s Commissioned Piece for the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (05 & 06). One of his arrangements - Kumbaya, premiered in St.Vincent in 2001, much to the musical delight of the singers, while another is currently a part of the 2009 repertoire of the "Ecole Municipale de Musique de LOUVIERS", in France. His piece, "Wedding Song " has had over 4,500 downloads. In 2006, there was Carifesta VI, the Barbados presentation to Trinidad and several other workshops & productions (2006 into 2007), which he has participated including the capacity as Musical Director. In November 2007, Ryan produced his own recital “Twenty Something,” which celebrated his musical journey. In addition Ryan, was a member of the panel of judges for the Crop-Over Calypso Competitions 2007 & 2008, and has worked as Musical Director in the production “Sobie” which played Nov/Dec 2007. Other projects included musical productions in Feb and June 2008. The year 2009 has been a busy year which included music director of productions in June “Psalmody III” and November “A Sound in Music”.
