Theodore Chaney-Miadzinian

Location: Pennsylvania, USA
Theodore (Ted) Chaney-Miadzinian is 23 years old and resides in the greater Philadelphia Area. A recent graduate of Immaculata University, he performs and studies regularly having earned his degree in Music Education. Ted is primarily a singer as a performer, but also has years of experience as an instrumental performer/student and has an extensive knowledge of Music Theory. Studying under some of the best private instructors in the field he continues his study of voice with Mrs. Diana Borgia-Petro as well as piano and music theory with Dr. William Carr (Steinway Artist). Having been repeatedly awarded for his musicianship, teaching technique, and performance ability, Ted was chosen out of many applicants to be the most recent recipient of the "Almira Doutt Memorial Scholarship" from Immaculata University. He has also been recognized for his work at multiple summer camps as an educator to be admired and imitated. His consistency in his work with students of all ages and ability to engage his students have lead to the services of Ted's studio being in very high demand. Ted for four years was part of the Stage Stormers Children's Theater Workshop as a teacher, assistant teacher, and technical supervisor. While working for Stage Stormers he has worked in several locations with students aging anywhere from 6-17 years old in a musical theater atmosphere. Often taking over the musical aspect of the classroom, he has been part of six shows all of which came to a successful conclusion. In his 17th year of study, he also holds the rank of third degree black belt in traditional Tang Soo Do karate. Under the instruction of Master Samuel Wallace, Ted has flourished both as a continuing student and as an instructor of the art. Having a strong focus on discipline and technique in martial arts has crossed over into his study and instruction of music. This has lead to a firm belief that all students should "start from scratch" when applying themselves to their studies whether those studies include martial arts, music, or any type of arts eduction. "All students in my studio will start from the beginning and re-learn anything they already knew with the reinforcement of proper technique and a strong focus on pedagogy. If you really want to be successful and feel good about what you are doing as a musician then you have to learn everything the correct way. Many people lack that kind of discipline in their every day lives and its our job as educators to instill that behavior in them to help them succeed."
