Christopher J McCafferty is a Seattle area professional tenor, Artistic Director of Illumni Men's Chorale, and Treasurer of the Greater Seattle Choral Consortium www.seattlesings.org.
He has previoulsy held positions as the:
Chris attended Pacific Lutheran University where he studied Vocal Performance with Marsha Baldwin of the Metropolitan Opera and Barry Johnson, and conducting with Dr. Richard Sparks and Prof. Kathryn Lehmann. He also attended Edmonds Community College where he studied voice with Rick Asher and Digital Music Scoring with Kieth Evans.
Solo highlights include performances before the World Harp Congress in Geneva, the Albiate Music Festival, the European premier of the tenor solo in Richard Nance's Mass for a New Millennium with Dr. Nance conducting, and the World Premier of the tenor solo in Alice Parker's An American Kedusha before the American Guild of Organists' National Convention, and appearing in recital with Angela Meade.
As a conductor, Chris has been privileged to conduct premiers of works by composers Edwin Wendler, and Neil Anderson-Himmelspach with Illumni, and to conduct the Seattle Men's Chorus.
During the day, Mr. McCafferty runs a successful vocal studio at his home and one at a local school.
