Lana Mountford
 Assistant Conductor and Composer in Residence, Cantaré Vocal Ensemble, Seattle, WA Director, Goldentones Senior Choir, Seattle WA Retired from 32-yr career in Information Technology (database design); returned to school in 2003 as a "non-traditional student" (a.k.a. "older than dirt") at Seattle Pacific University to complete music degree initially begun in 1969 and abandoned after one year. Graduated 2006, triple major in Conducting, Composition, Vocal Performance. Completed work toward a M.Mus. in Music History & Literature at Western Washington University, focusing on women's roles in choral music in North America prior to 1800 (singers, composers, teachers, publishers). Recently premiered composition: "Riders on the Earth" -- for SATB with piano and cello accompaniment, based on an excerpt from an Allistair MacLeish essay, April, 2011.
