Kitka, in collaboration with the Eristavi Family Winery, is thrilled to present rare Bay Area performances by the Georgian vocal ensembles Adilei and the Chamgeliani Sisters in the magical, intimate barrel room of the Eristavi Family Winery.
Eristavi is an ultra-premium urban winery located in San Francisco offering a diverse list of California grown varietals produced exclusively by the only Georgian winemaking family in the United States.
Hailing from the Republic of Georgia, Adilei’s nine vocalists are internationally acclaimed for their collective creative approach, superior improvisational skills, and a fresh and lively repertoire. Adilei’s main passion lies in music from Guria in western Georgia, home to a complex and colorful form of polyphonic singing and a thrilling yodeling tradition.
Kitka is especially excited to present the Chamgeliani Sisters, joining Adilei on their first trip to the US. This stunning duo sings hauntingly beautiful ancient traditional songs from Svaneti, a remote region in the Caucasian highlands.
Any authentic experience of Georgian traditional polyphony is elevated to further heights by Georgian wine. The Eristavi family traces its roots back hundreds of years to the mountains, valleys and vineyards of Georgia. It was here that viniculture begun as early as 6,000 B.C., and is considered by many experts the cradle of wine making. Master Vintner Victor Eristavi passionately instills a unique combination of old-world wine making techniques and modern technology to create his handcrafted wines while capturing the essence of distinct California grape varietals.
Exclusive Eristavi wines will be available for purchase at $12 per glass. A complimentary charcuterie selection will be served to accompany the wines during intermission.
As seating capacity is extremely limited in this intimate venue, advance reservations are strongly recommended.

About KITKA Women’s Vocal Ensemble:
‘KITKA has gained an international reputation for bringing a contemporary perspective to the sumptuous harmonies, striking dissonances, and angular rhythms of traditional Eastern European music. The ravishing textures of their voices singing in haunting cadences and unfamiliar languages make KITKA’s performances enthralling.’ -SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS
