Join composers, Dan Forrest and Kim André Arnesen for a 4-night Residency, rehearsals, and a feature concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City! Enjoy the thrilling experience of being in New York City for the Thanksgiving Holiday while taking in the whole NYC holiday experience with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and presenting a holiday concert in historic Carnegie Hall while working with 2 of the BEST contemporary choral composers of our time! Prepare the repertoire and have your holiday concert polished to present to your home audience in December!
Ensembles/Singers choose one festival chorus/composer/conductor to work with for this opportunity. A joint finale will close the concert event!
Join Composer-In-Residence, Dr. Dan Forrest, and Guest Conductor, Dr. Pearl Shangkuan, at Carnegie Hall as they create a repertoire to gladden the heart and ring in the season. Dr. Shangkuan will direct the program, with Dr. Forrest in attendance to lend his unique perspective on his own works!

Sing under the direction of legendary Guest Conductor, Dr. Jo-Michael Scheibe, as he collaborates with the Norwegian Composer-In-Residence, Kim André Arnesen. Additionally, see the balloons up close as they are being filled with helium outside Manhattan’s Museum of Natural History from 1–8 pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 (the day before the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.) The balloon inflation path winds around the museum beginning at the public entrance on 74th Street and Columbus Avenue.
AND, attend the 93rd Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will take place on Thursday, November 28, 2019, from 9 AM to Noon ET. Take a spot along the 2.5 miles of public viewing along the route and watch more than 8,000 Parade participants set off down the streets of Manhattan or join a nationwide television audience of over 50 million viewers and watch the Parade on NBC.
