The newest class of ACDA Conducting Fellows from South Africa has been announced. These conductors will begin their cross-cultural exchange this coming February at the 2019 ACDA National Conference in Kansas City.

Rineke Viljoen – Conductor, North West Youth Choir
Kobus Venter – Conductor, North-West University PUK-Choir, the Molen Kórus Chamber Choir and The Boulevard Harmonists
Sabelo Siphelele Mthembu – Afro-Jazz Singer & Conductor, Quava Vocal Group
Raine Pienaar – Conductor, Laerskool Stephanus Roos Choirs & Glenstantia Primary School
AJ Maree – Conductor, Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool Boys’ Choir, and the A Cappella group, the A-minere
Also starting their exchange at the Kansas City conference are our U.S. Conducting Fellows, who will be traveling to South Africa:

Since 2012, the ACDA International Conductors Exchange Program has provided opportunities for U.S. conductors with successful exchanges with Cuba, China, Sweden, South Korea, and South America. In exchange, we are proud to host conductors from those countries as they visit and explore the U.S. conducting world.
