The program, For Love Is Strong As Death, includes works by Brahms, Britten, Hovhaness, Lauridsen, and Monteverdi. This event marks the closing of the Cambridge campus of Episcopal Divinity School. It celebrates the grace of love that transcends boundaries and abides through change.The widely varied repertoire invites listening for the echoes of what has been and attuning ourselves to what we most long for and do not yet see, fully present in the miraculous, unique, and irreplaceable moment by moment Now. Ellen Oak will conduct the 30-voice ensemble of amateurs and professionals. Yevgenia Semeina will accompany on piano and organ. The audience will be asked to join in the singing at several points. The venue is the visually and acoustically gorgeous Saint John’s Chapel on the EDS campus, 99 Brattle Street, Cambridge. Admission is free and all are welcome. Free parking is available on campus.
