The Hawai‘i chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (HI-ACDA) announces their fourth annual Professional Development Day on Saturday September 1st, 2018 at Admiral Arthur W. Radford High School (4361 Salt Lake Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96818). The event is open to choral directors in all contexts—school, college, community, church, etc. Our theme this year is Developing an Enduring Legacy: Creating and Growing a Thriving Choral Program.
HI-ACDA announces a call for session proposals. We invite sessions that are dynamic and interactive, with ideas that are authentic to the presenter. Sessions should provide attendees with tools and techniques that apply to a range of choir types. We encourage proposers to speak about their own, personal successes that may be of interest to colleagues. Topics may include:
o Curriculum
o Programing
o Rehearsal Management
o Engagement Strategies
o Rehearsal Planning
o Teaching Music Literacy in Rehearsal
o Vocal Development
o Working with children’s voices/adolescent voices/aging voices
If you, or someone you know is interested, please submit a proposal through the Google Form. The deadline for submission is March 31, 2018.
By submitting a proposal, you acknowledge that applicants assume all financial responsibility for travel, food, and lodging for presenters or interest session participants. All attendees, including presenters and board members, must register for the event and cover their own registration costs. Submission also implies that, if accepted, the presenter is prepared to travel to O‘ahu to attend and present.
